Post Election

Post Election Analysis by Allen Chanthirat

1. Cite examples of "Supreme Law Of The Land"
"Marijuana is still illegal in the eyes of the federal government, which overrules states' rights. "
2. Cite examples of "Federal vs. State Authority"

""The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will," said Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, in a statement. "This is a complicated process, but we intend to follow through. That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug, so don't break out the Cheetos or goldfish too quickly."
3. What was the compromise that helped to pass the refenderum in Washington? How do you think this compromise would affect demand for this product?
""In enacting the Controlled Substances Act, Congress determined that marijuana is a Schedule I control[ed] substance"
Marijuana is going to be taxed by 25%. The price of Marijuana would be very high.

4. Why was Oregons Refenderum not passed?
""[The feds] will do whatever they can to interfere with marijuana legalization in any state,"
There could be a battle between voters and Federals in the supreme court while trying to legalize Marijuana.

5.What group do you think the social media has targeted this article to?
I think the article was targeted to all the people who smoke/support marijuana.
