Theodore was born in New York City on October 27,1858. T.R. had asthma when he was born, and was fraile during his youth. His Dad encouraged him to start exercising to build up strengith because his father was afraid of T.R.'s health. Roosevelt took up boxing and started exercising.
2. How did he become president?
Roosevelt was elected president on September 14, 1901. This was a couple of days after President McKinley was shot(September 6, 1901).
3. What was T.R.'s "Bully Pulpit"?
"I suppose my critics will call that preaching, but I have got such a bully pulpit!" - Theodore Roosevelt.
4. Summarize T.R.'s opinions on civil rights.
Theodore Roosevelt felt that African Americans should be equal to white Americans.
5. Explain if you would like T.R. if he were President today.
I would like to see Theodore Roosevelt as president today because he wanted equality between diffrentiated races. I think the world would be a much more equal place with equal opportunities. There would be more black presidents and so on.
